I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biology from California State University, Fresno and later completed a science-focused post-baccalaureate program at UC Davis. My academic and professional background has given me a strong foundation in the sciences and mathematics, and I am especially comfortable helping students with biology, elementary math, and Algebra 1. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish and can tutor students in Spanish, whether they are learning the language or would benefit from academic support from someone who can explain concepts in both English and Spanish.

Throughout my education and professional experience, I have enjoyed mentoring students and helping others understand challenging material. I have worked with students individually through mentoring and have experience supporting younger students through research and community-based programs. My approach is patient, encouraging, and tailored to the individual student. Rather than simply giving an answer, I like to break concepts into smaller steps, identify where a student is getting stuck, and work through problems together until the student feels comfortable approaching them independently.

I know that students learn in different ways, so I adjust my explanations and teaching strategies based on each student’s needs. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. Whether a student needs help strengthening foundational math skills, understanding Algebra 1 or biology, or improving their Spanish, I want them to leave each session with a clearer understanding of the material and greater confidence in their abilities.
