Hello! My name is Eyery R., and I am an experienced educator with a strong background in teaching, curriculum, and student support. I hold a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction and an Education Specialist (Ed.S) degree in Educational Leadership. I also hold a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and have passed the RICA (Reading Instruction Competence Assessment) and CSET (California Subject Examinations for Teachers) exams.
I currently teach 6th grade in a classroom setting. My experience includes supporting students in upper-elementary academics, especially in reading, writing, comprehension, vocabulary, and written-response questions. I work with students from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of academic needs, and I aim to create a learning environment that is structured, encouraging, and responsive to each student's skill level and needs.
My teaching approach is centered on clarity, patience, encouragement, and steady progress. I believe students learn best when instruction is broken into manageable steps and when they feel safe asking questions and learning from their mistakes. In literacy, I focus on helping students strengthen their understanding of what they read, improve how they express their ideas in writing, and develop strong study habits. I use guided practice, discussion, modeling, targeted feedback, and scaffolded support to help students grow.
In addition to teaching in a classroom setting, I also have experience working with students in more individualized settings through one-on-one support and personalized instruction.
Whether your student needs extra support, more confidence in reading and writing, or a patient guide who can help break learning into more manageable parts, I would be glad to help. My goal is to make learning feel approachable, meaningful, and enjoyable for each student.
