I hold a bachelor’s degree from UCLA in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology and am currently earning my master’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. My academic background allows me to tutor a wide range of subjects, including math, biology, chemistry, environmental science, history, standardized test preparation (PSAT, SAT, ACT), essay writing, and computer science. I am especially experienced tutoring middle and high school mathematics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus, but I am comfortable working with motivated students in other subjects as well.
I have seven years of one-on-one tutoring experience working with students between the ages of 11 and 21. Most of my work has been with middle school and high school students, along with some college-level students. All of my teaching has taken place in individualized settings, which allows me to adapt each lesson to the student’s pace and goals. I have worked with students who are seeking to strengthen foundational skills, improve grades, prepare for exams, or challenge themselves with more advanced material.
My tutoring approach is student-centered and highly individualized. I evaluate each student’s current understanding and learning style before building a plan. For students with a strong foundation, lessons focus on increasingly challenging practice problems, including exam-style and questions that require higher-level thinking. For students who need to reinforce fundamentals, I provide structured explanations and visual aids to build confidence step by step. At all levels, I emphasize communication by encouraging students to ask questions and explain their reasoning, helping them become more independent and confident learners.
