I’ve spent the past several years working directly with elementary students as a Kindergarten Paraprofessional in Fresno Unified, and that experience is the core of why I tutor today. In the classroom, I support students one-on-one and in small groups in reading, writing, and math, including learners who need extra structure, patience, and individualized strategies. Over time I’ve developed a strong understanding of how K–6 students think and learn, especially when it comes to breaking skills down, building confidence, and helping them feel proud of their progress.
Outside the classroom, I’ve also supported students privately, using methods that focus on clarity, short structured lessons, and consistent routines. I regularly work with early readers, second-grade math learners, students who need help expressing themselves in full sentences, and children who benefit from visual cues, modeling, and step-by-step problem solving. I tailor every session to the child’s pace and learning style so they don’t feel overwhelmed and instead feel encouraged and capable.
My goal as a tutor is simple: help each student understand the material, feel confident using it, and enjoy the process of learning. Because I’ve worked with so many different personalities and ability levels in real school settings, I know how to adjust approaches quickly and meet students exactly where they are. I love seeing those small breakthroughs, and I bring patience, consistency, and genuine care into every session.
