To my prospective student, my name is Mrs. Nimat "Nima" D, and I have a master’s degree in administrative education and leadership from California State University Fresno. I have another master's degree in Inspired Teaching and Learning Credential program with an Emphasis on English Language (EL)— a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, WA. I have passed the CBEST and CSET tests, which assist me with instructing my students with Common Core foundational lesson plans.
I have been in the educational system for 15 years. I volunteered to assist Fresno State students (both Graduate and Undergraduate) with papers and writing assignments. Tutoring experience for two years, Elementary K-8th grade students aged 5-14 years old. I have tutored students as a Certified Substitute Teacher for Fresno Unified, substituting for the Resource Center, conducting reading informal assessments in small classroom groups, building high-frequency words, and training one-on-one international students to speak English at VIPKids. It is my passion to help my students reach their academic goals by utilizing Universal Design and structuring my lesson plans to meet each student's individual learning needs. Giving clear and explicit instructions to my students with open communication, teamwork, and transparency is essential to my tutoring strategy. It would be an honor and a privilege to tutor you.
