As I was pursuing my computer science degree, I became interested in tutoring. During my time in school, I was an English Tutor for the community college I was attending and I also tutored others in math, particularly algebra and geometry. I did this until I transferred to a university, where I graduated with a a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Sociology (another subject I grew to love).
After graduating, I started working as a software engineer in web development, working both on the front end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) and on the back end (Node.js, Java). During my time as a software engineer, I volunteered and taught computer science to students attending a charter school as part of an after school program to serve students in marginalized communities by teaching them how to code. I made lesson plans and taught classes, and when I wasn't being the lead teacher, I was walking around the class helping students as needed.
After departing my job earlier this year, I have decided to become an educator and help people learn various subjects ranging from English to Math to CS. I specialize in English and Web Development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React), and I am able to teach various Math subjects. I am easy to get ahold of and reach out, and I am open to receiving any sort of feedback any student may have, as I strive to tailor the experience to them and ensure each student gets everything they need and want out of working with me. I'm excited to see what each student brings and how I can help them!
