Hello! My name is Ojas, and I am currently a student at the University of Minnesota pursuing a degree in Biological Sciences. Throughout my academic career, I have developed strong study habits, problem-solving skills, and a passion for helping others learn. I enjoy working with students of all ages and helping them build confidence in subjects that may feel challenging or frustrating.
Much of my experience has been working with younger students. I served as a teaching assistant for a summer STEM academy, where I worked closely with elementary and middle school students in both classroom and small-group settings. I also volunteered at a local science center, helping children learn math, science, and critical thinking skills through hands-on activities and individualized support. These experiences taught me the importance of patience, encouragement, and adapting lessons to each student's learning style. I found that many students learn best when concepts are broken down into simple steps and connected to examples they can relate to.
As a tutor, I focus on creating a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is not only to help students complete assignments and prepare for tests, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners. Whether a student needs help with elementary and middle school subjects, study skills, organization, homework support, or foundational math and science concepts, I am committed to meeting them where they are and helping them reach their goals at their own pace.
