I am currently a college student majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Chemistry, which has given me a strong foundation in both analytical reasoning and scientific problem-solving. Through my major coursework, I have developed a deeper understanding of core mathematical concepts such as algebra, calculus, and early proof-based reasoning, while my chemistry courses have strengthened my ability to apply quantitative thinking in real-world scientific contexts. This academic background has helped me become more confident in explaining complex concepts in a clear and structured way.
My tutoring experience has primarily focused on mathematics, working with high school and early college students in both one-on-one and small group settings. I have supported students in areas such as algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus 1. In these sessions, I focus on identifying where a student’s understanding begins to break down and then rebuilding the concept step-by-step in a way that makes sense to them. Rather than emphasizing memorization, I encourage students to understand the “why” behind each step so they can approach similar problems independently.
I prioritize creating a supportive and patient learning environment. My goal is to make math feel more approachable by breaking down problems into manageable steps and reinforcing key ideas through practice and repetition. Ultimately, I aim to help students not only improve their grades but also build long-term confidence in their mathematical abilities.
