Hi, I'm Arushi! I am a current Sophomore at UC Davis studying Statistics and Economics. I have completed coursework until Calculus 3 and I am looking to take Linear Algebra next fall. I recognized that tutoring was an area that I wanted to explore more in so I decided to take a co-op teaching course that allowed me to apply my learning. I did an internship at a local Davis elementary school for 3 months in which I was responsible for tutoring 3rd grade students on Mathematics. I ended up loving it! I approach teaching in a systematic, yet fun way that can help students really engage with the material. I want to provide students the platform to also teach me what they know and understand so that the material is further reinforced.

I also have another year of personal tutoring experience with 3rd grade English, which was online. I employed creative writing prompts to ensure that the student was enjoying what they were practicing, as well as being able to implement their understanding in their work. I also implemented short homework sets that allowed for the student to practice their handwriting and creative writing pieces. During classes, I would prepare spelling sets and vocabulary identification.

I want to make sure that students are well prepared for their future exams or coursework so sending me practice worksheets or problems beforehand can help me create a thorough lesson on the topic! This way, all the time during the lesson can be reserved for learning.
