Hi my name is Marcus! I graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in neuroscience and minor in computer science while maintaining honors for every semester. I have also successfully been admitted to the Northwestern University physician assistant program, the 8th best program in the nation with a <2% acceptance rate. It was through success in classes such as physiology, anatomy, general/organic chemistry, and biology that I was able to complete these goals. After graduation I served as a 911 EMT on the ambulance where I eventually became a field training officer and mentored new EMTs for a year. My approach to teaching is through the watch one, do one, teach one approach. I find that my students were able to self identify their weaknesses and knowledge gaps effectively when pushed to teach the material they had just learned. However, I adapt to my student's needs and am always open to critical feedback from them. I believe that a teacher is directly responsible for their student's performance. My time as an EMT FTO meant that I was often with my students for 12 hours at a time, 4 days of the week. I have learned to develop excellent relationships through these experiences and constantly adapt material to not make learning stale during these long periods of work. In addition to basic classwork, I am always open to discussing the pre-health/med tracks and giving insights on what students need to do to be successful. For any additional questions, feel free to reach out and I will reply promptly.
