I’m a credentialed elementary school teacher with a Master’s in Teaching and over five years of experience working with students in grades 2 through 5. I’ve taught in both classroom and one-on-one settings, and I’m passionate about helping each student feel confident, capable, and supported in their learning.
I specialize in reading, writing, and math, and I tailor every lesson to fit each child’s unique needs and learning style. I am trained in structured literacy approaches, including Orton-Gillingham, to support strong reading development. In my sessions, I focus on building foundational skills—like phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension—while using hands-on, engaging strategies so students truly understand what they are learning, not just memorize it.
I have experience working with a wide range of learners, including English learners, students who need extra support, and those who are ready for more advanced challenges. Because of this, I know how to adjust my teaching pace, break down complex concepts, and provide the right level of support or challenge for each student.
Building strong relationships is at the heart of my teaching. I strive to create a positive and encouraging environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. I also believe that learning should be meaningful and enjoyable, so I incorporate interactive activities and connect lessons to students’ interests whenever possible. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them build confidence, develop independence, and gain a love for learning that lasts beyond our sessions.
