Hi everyone, I'm Monica! I am a current first year medical school student and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Spanish. Hi everyone, I'm Monica! I am a current first year medical school student and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Spanish. During my undergraduate career, I always admired the teaching assistants that could take any subject and make it fun to learn. When I tutor, I bring a positive approach to learning. I want my students to recognize that learning can be fun and enjoyable, no matter what the subject material is. I always encourage questions and stop me if something is not understood. Additionally, I tailor my lessons to a student's particular learning style.
I began tutoring about five years ago during my undergraduate career. I was a volunteer tutor for the Spanish department at UCI and a peer tutor in the Biology department at UCI. As a Spanish tutor, I worked individually with students that were struggling to understand the different sentence and word structure. As a Biology tutor, I worked with a group of students to review biochemical pathways and go over any confusing concepts that might be covered on an exam.
I always welcome any suggestions or questions from students or parents. Please feel free to contact me at any time and I look forward to working with you.
