Bio

With over 20 years of experience working with students of varying ages, I have determined that every student has a unique way of learning. Through my classroom experience and one-to-one tutoring, I've gained knowledge on the multitude of ways to reach children, embracing individual learning styles. Having worked in the classroom, I am able to adapt to students, teachers, and their curriculum. When the classroom experience is not enough to facilitate growth, this is where I excel.

I tutor all K-8 subjects, high school and college level Spanish, and advanced placement test prep.

My specialties are:
*English/Language Arts including reading fluency, grammar, reading comprehension, and writing. My ability to recognize and employ effective teaching/learning strategies, helps the students to achieve their goals.

*Spanish and English as a Second Language (ESL)
I was raised in a dual speaking family and have continued my education, through school and work, to effectively communicate in both languages.
*Math (K-8)
I help my students master the basics while building confidence to tackle the more advanced math concepts.
•Learning Disabilities
Patience and creativity come into play when working with students who may struggle to learn in more traditional settings. I have worked with various disabilities including students on the autism spectrum, ADD, and Auditory Processing Disorder.

Elementary (K-6th)

During my experience as an elementary school instructional aide, I worked with children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. I continue to tutor students at the elementary level and beyond. My students are able to master concepts both basic and increasingly difficult through thoughtful instruction and engaging one-on-one interaction. I recognize that one size does not fit all when it comes to learning. Therefore, my approach is tailored to fit the student, utilizing each individual's strengths.

ESL/ESOL

I have tutored adults looking to improve their conversational English skills, in a relaxed, natural environment. Specific goals and needs are addressed, and students gain confidence in speaking American English.
Spanish

Spanish

I have prior experience tutoring students enrolled in Spanish courses at both high school and college levels. I have also taught conversational Spanish to adults seeking to improve their fluency. My students gain a better understanding of the language while increasing their proficiency. They come to value the benefits of utilizing Spanish as a second language in their professional environments as well as in their personal lives.
