My name is Lorretta. I am a retired teacher. I've worked in the Los Angeles School District for twelve years, and the San Bernardino School District for twenty-five years. Working with a vastly diverse population in both districts, I've learned to communicate and and relate well to my students' educational needs. I provided a fun-loving atmosphere which was highly academic and competitive. Students loved being in my class because I provided activities which made learning fun!
My education is extensive and complete. I've earned an Associate Arts degree, a Bachelors of Arts degree and a Masters of Science degree of which I earned a cum laude designation. ( graduated with honors) I simply love education! I have a deep desire to help students learn and achieve. I want to contribute to our society by devoting my time to educate, and inspire others to become productive citizens.
I was an exemplary elementary school teacher who loved reading and loved to teach grammar and reading. These two subjects were my favorite to teach. I have excellent repertoire with my students as I make sure they are getting the most out of what they are reading, and have the ability to convey what they want others to learn. I am articulate and possess great communication skills as I love listening and speaking to others.
I simply enjoy working with students immensely, especially those who want to learn. I've always had the ability to inspire them to learn, this has been my forte.
"I'm Back!" This is an expression I'd like to use here in reaching out to you to let you know many of my past students never wanted me to quit teaching! We had so much fun learning! I was known for creating an atmosphere where you will feel comfortable, yet challenged in an academic setting. I hope you will contact me. You will not have any regrets. My name is Lorretta. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Since I was an elementary school teacher for over thirty-five years, it was a district expectation to teach. I've complimented by several people that I have beautiful handwriting.
I tutored students in the after-school programs for several years. The students whom I tutored were given the opportunity to participate on recommendations of their teachers. Usually these students needed help in organizing and managing their study habits.
