I have over 25 years of experience teaching mathematics to students of all ages and backgrounds, but I especially enjoy tutoring students one-on-one where I can focus on the student's individual learning needs. I have taught and tutored elementary, middle school, high school, and college students in arithmetic through pre-calculus. I have over 25 years of experience teaching mathematics to students of all ages and backgrounds, but I especially enjoy tutoring students one-on-one where I can focus on the student's individual learning needs. I have taught and tutored elementary, middle school, high school, and college students in arithmetic through pre-calculus. I have taught mathematics to students with many diverse needs, including students with physical and learning disabilities and English Second Language Learners from diverse areas of the world. When tutoring, depending on the student's needs and learning styles, I frequently use socratic questioning strategies, manipulatives, and visuals to help the student gain true understanding of the concept and skills being studied.

I have a B.A. in Mathematics and a M.Ed. in Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Washington, and a M.S. in Mathematics focused on statistics from Claremont Graduate University. After studying elementary and special education at Central Washington University, I was certified in Washington state to teach K-12 Special Education, K-8 Multiple Subjects, and K-Adult Mathematics. I have completed all the coarse work for a doctoral degree in education at Claremont Graduate University focused on how to make mathematics comprehension for all.

I am fully qualified to tutor people in preparation of the CBEST math section, based on my B.A. in Mathematics, M.Ed. in Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction, M.S. in Mathematics, and over ten years of experience teaching secondary (middle school and high school) mathematics. When I took the CBEST test in 2001, I passed the math and reading sections on the first attempt. I passed the writing section on the second attempt, which I had ran out of time for in the first attempt. Since then my writing skills have greatly improved while completing my master's studies and doctoral coursework.

On the logic section of the GRE test I was at the 91 percentile score level. I regularly use logical reasoning when explaining math to students, during my own graduate studies - MS in Mathematics earned 2012, and in every day life.

My post-bachelor’s special education teacher credential studies, education master’s studies, and doctoral studies in higher education for students with special needs exceeds the equivalency of a master’s in special education. I have 45 upper division quarter units in special education from Central Washington University, 3 graduate quarter units in special education from University of Washington, and 16 graduate semester units in special education from Claremont Graduate University. My special education units total the equivalency of 48 semester units. I previously was credentialed to teach special education students in both California and Washington states, and I taught as a special education teacher for over two years.

Best math teacher ever! My son has been struggling through high school math courses and Jennifer has made it easy for him to understand these concepts. He feels confident in moving through his exams because she is able to convey the information in a way that he can utilize his understanding and newfound skills to complete the tasks.I really wish there were more math teachers like her in our school system. I wouldn’t even look anywhere else for a tutor. She is the very best!
