Hello! My name is Valeria, and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of California, Santa Barbara, double majoring in Computer Science and Environmental Studies, with minors in Mathematics and Italian. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in STEM subjects, and I am also fluent in Spanish, which I am happy to incorporate into tutoring when helpful.

I have several years of tutoring experience that began in high school, where I supported classmates and younger students in subjects I had already completed. I continued tutoring during my first year at UCSB, working one-on-one with students to strengthen their understanding and confidence. Through these experiences, I have worked with a range of ages and learning levels, primarily in math and other STEM-related subjects.

My teaching approach is highly personalized and student-centered. I believe that every student learns differently, so rather than using a one-size-fits-all method, I take the time to understand each student’s learning style and adapt my explanations accordingly. Whether that means breaking concepts down step-by-step, using real-world examples, or practicing together until the material clicks, my goal is always to make learning approachable and engaging.

I am passionate about helping students overcome challenges and build confidence in subjects that may feel intimidating at first. Seeing that moment when a concept finally makes sense is what makes tutoring so rewarding to me. I am patient, supportive, and committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing at their own pace.

I offer tutoring in STEM subjects as well as Spanish, and I am happy to work with students of all ages. I look forward to helping you reach your academic goals!
