Hello, I’m Andrew (Mr. C)! As a vivacious, energetic and passionate mild/moderate Special Education teacher with 5 years of experience promoting healthy, positive and influential habits among high school students, I am ecstatic to present to you my background and qualifications. My professional rapport lies in treating students with patience, compassion, and holding them to a standard in which they are able to succeed in and outside of the educational setting. In addition, promoting life skills, a sense of independence, and self-encouragement are other qualities that I live and teach by. Furthermore, I have excelled in educating students from a range of developmental abilities, ages and backgrounds-including students with disabilities and special needs. Even more so, I have sharpened my communication, creativity and motivational skills to effectively collaborate with staff, parents, and IEP stakeholders.
In terms of my degrees and qualifications, I currently possess a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science that I received from California State University San Bernardino. Following this degree, I went on to pursue a master's and teaching credential in physical education with an added authorization in Adapted Physical Education at Azusa Pacific University. After obtaining these, I began as a long-term substitute teaching students with mild/moderate disabilities which I fell in love with. That said, I went back to school to receive a teaching credential in mild/moderate Special Education from National University. Currently, I teach at a high school in Ontario, CA that focuses on students with the primary disability of emotional disturbance(ED).
