Challenging tutor giving lots of help with pronunciation
After a few lessons, Yen Pin had a good assessment of my Mandarin level and has been able to construct challenging lessons that leverage what I know and add a manageable mix of new words and concepts each time. She has also helped me greatly with pronunciation, identifying patterns where I tend to make tone errors so I can be conscious and correct them.

Great tutor!
My 4 year old son had 5 lessons with Yen Pin now and he's made amazing progress with his Pinyin. This was one of my requirements because I know Pinyin is the foundation of learning Mandarin Chinese even though he already speaks fairly fluent Chinese...Yen Pin is very patient with young child and she knows very well of their attention spam. She uses all kinds of interactive "games" and self-developed graphical teaching aids to make a 4 year-old actual sitting in a lesson for a hour and learn a lot with fun; she even teach him Chinese culture topics such as the Moon festival which I was so happy that she even thought about it! Amazing rapport
At first we were unsure if our 3 1/2 year old would be too young to learn mandarin. however, we were put quickly and reassuringly at ease by Yen who bonded with our son and made learning fun immediately. we would hear Yen and our son laughing and involved in an excellent instructional session, which he continues to look forward to. she has been a breath of fresh air! we are delighted.
