My name is Edward and I'm a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Project Manager (PMP), hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC), published researcher, and have 10+ years of relevant tutoring experience. I'm here to coach you on math and personalize a path to practically apply it towards a productive, professional career. Are you struggling with the fundamentals, stuck on a specific concept or problem, or even struggling with motivation and asking "why am I even in this class?" I understand these challenges, and can even go a step further by bridging the gap between math classes and career development. Making something practical often makes it more enjoyable and understandable. As someone who's blazed my own trail to a specialized and successful career, I enjoy providing authentic mentorship that was not readily available to me. I empathetically serve students by meeting them where they're at in the learning process, and coach them to their desired academic and professional level with proven, practical, personal experience.

I’ve tutored students of all levels from grade school arithmetic through typical high school and college-level courses. I built a career in the disciplines of building mechanical, wastewater, commissioning, odor control, and project management. While working, I passed the rigorous Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and 8-hour mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) exams. I have tutored students to successfully pass these exams while providing career coaching. The bottom line is, that roadblock in front of you can be moved together, whether it's times tables, SAT/ACT test prep, multivariable calculus, or the question "what am I going to do after graduation?" I will be there to work through it together and answer your questions based on my own lessons learned.

My passion for empathy-based and results-based tutoring, combined with my practical industry experience, builds students' competence and confidence on their road to success.

Approved Subjects

Baseball

Baseball

I played competitive varsity baseball across the country, and continued with club baseball while earning my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at USC. Now I'm a licensed professional engineer. Baseball and Math are both mental and physical sports. Whether seeking the calm, calculating, strategic edge in baseball, or the competitive edge in math and engineering, I look forward to coaching you to the next level through a fun, rewarding, and interdisciplinary approach.
Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

I earned my bachelor's of engineering degree from University of Southern California, and have since earned my professional engineering license through professional experience and two rigorous exams. I tutor students through courses typical of an undergraduate engineering degree and through passing each of these exams, and also tutor elementary school, middle school, and high school students through their math, reading, and writing courses to prepare them for the next level.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I'm a licensed engineer who's presented at seminars, tech talks, corporate training, and (for fun) open-mic nights at the local comedy club! Engineers are stereotyped as being introverted, and likely afraid of public speaking, and I was no exception. However, it is now a skill that helps me stand apart, and has opened rewarding opportunities. Let's discuss how we can grow your skills in this area.
