As an undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley, I bring a background in molecular genetics, bioengineering, and extensive teaching experience. My educational journey with hands-on research and leadership roles have equipped me with a deep understanding of scientific principles and the ability to convey complex concepts effectively.
My teaching experience is prominently highlighted by my involvement with Cognitive Exchange in high school, a student-led nonprofit where I served in various leadership capacities over three years. My initial role as Director of the Curriculum Team involved leading a group of volunteers to double the existing curriculum, improving the quality of the content and reaching hundreds of middle and high school students worldwide.
Now in university, I founded The ReVision Project dedicated to creating inclusive and equitable STEM materials. Moreover, I am an undergrad researcher in the Schaffer Lab, working on projects related to enhancing viral gene delivery systems for cancer therapeutics. My research role involves molecular cloning, mammalian cell culture, viral transduction, and CRISPR techniques. I also contribute to the UC Berkeley School of Optometry's ViSUR program, studying myopia in a vision science laboratory. These experiences have further refined my ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively.
Additionally, I have demonstrated leadership and teaching abilities through my role as a Speaker Coach for TEDx Folsom, where I mentor speakers 1 on 1 in crafting and delivering impactful talks. My involvement in founding The ReVision Project and leading an AI Rover Bioengineering Team at the Space Technologies at Cal organization on campus further allows me to integrate scientific knowledge with practical applications.
I am committed to creating supportive learning environments, drawing on my diverse experiences to empower students to become more excited to learn.
