I’ve known from a young age that I was meant to be a teacher. Coming from a family of passionate educators, nurturing and supporting children has always been at the heart of what I do.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from San Diego State University, followed by my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Cal State San Marcos. I have spent 18 years teaching in Vista, CA in elementary classrooms, including 7 years in Kindergarten. I have also worked as a Learning Specialist (Teaching Teachers) and English Language Development (ELD) Specialist, supporting students learning English and partnering closely with their families.
I am deeply passionate about building strong foundations for lifelong literacy. My approach focuses on systematic, sequential phonics instruction—helping students develop phonemic awareness and decoding skills step-by-step. I pair this with hands-on, fun, engaging activities so learning feels joyful, meaningful, and confidence-building.
I begin by assessing each child to understand their unique strengths and needs, then create personalized short- and long-term goals to guide their progress. While I have extensive classroom experience, I truly enjoy one-on-one tutoring, where I can tailor each lesson and move at your child’s pace.
My goal is simple: to help your child become a confident, capable, and happy reader.
