I am a recent graduate of the University of California-Riverside with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and a minor in Spanish. I have tutored several students one-on-one over the years in precalculus and calculus (including AP calculus). Although I have worked mainly with high school students, I spent a year volunteering in a 2nd grade classroom playing math games. You may have noticed that much of my tutoring experience is in Mathematics but that my degree is in Linguistics and Spanish. Although I have not spent much time tutoring in languages or linguistics, I have a fair degree of knowledge about language and language learning.
I prefer to tailor my methods to the individual, because I believe that every student responds differently to different types of instruction. I believe in giving students a fair degree of power in determining how they would like to approach the subject matter, within reason.
