I love teaching history and I love to make it fun. So many experiences students have with history these days makes it so dry and boring. But history is amazing! To learn what the people before us have done and gone through gives us such a perspective on how we live our lives today. Connecting students to history is always my first task and having fun learning it is my goal!
As a teacher I developed my own units and lessons with an inquiry based approach to help students not only understand the facts of history but also how to understand history as it applies to our lives today. Helping students to analyze history through analyzing primary and secondary sources is one of my favorite things. Students who dislike studying history are not being given enough opportunity to apply the lessons of the past to their lives today. I love to find the thread that connects the student to the material. These threads make learning history fun and also help students to understand complex world events from all perspectives.
Having worked with grade levels from 6th grade through high school and adult education, I am uniquely equipped to assist anyone who finds studying history to be a bore. I also help students struggling with US Government and Economics to put these detailed topics into an easier to understand format. Having taught in schools I have worked will all kinds of students and abilities from IEP's to gifted and talented. I can tailor make each tutoring session to you/ your unique student.
