I’m currently a student at the University of California, Berkeley pursuing a B.S. in Microbial Biology. Alongside my academic studies, I have worked as a private tutor since 2021, helping students of different ages and academic backgrounds build confidence and improve their performance in school. I have experience tutoring students ages 6 to 17 in subjects including math, science, English, and general homework support. My tutoring experience has included working one on one with students both in person and online, including students with learning disabilities who benefit from adaptive and individualized instruction.

My approach to tutoring is centered around patience, encouragement, and tailoring lessons to each student’s learning style. I believe every student learns differently, so I focus on creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I break down difficult concepts into smaller, manageable steps and use practice problems, repetition, and real-world examples to strengthen understanding. I also work to help students develop study habits, organizational skills, and confidence so they can become more independent learners over time.

In addition to tutoring, I have gained valuable teaching and communication experience through leadership and research roles. As the founder and president of my high school’s Best Buddies chapter, I led weekly meetings and worked closely with students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I also worked as a Student Research Assistant at the University of California, Davis Food Science and Technology Department, where I developed strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills in a collaborative environment. These experiences have strengthened my ability to connect with students, adapt to different needs, and create positive learning experiences that help students succeed academically and personally.
