I have my Bachelor's degree in mathematics and I am a former robotics coach. My goal was always to be a high school math and engineering teacher and I worked as a teacher's assistance, paraeducator, and behavior technician for students with disabilities throughout college. I fell so in love with students of all types of disabilities and varying severities that I eventually pivoted to working full time in special education. I earned my Master's degree in Special Education in 2020 and I now have 7 years of teaching experience, 4 of which are teaching special needs and struggling students online.
In addition, I never quite lost the math "bug" and I am looking to tutor students in mathematics. I am always looking for new ways to scratch this itch I have for mathematics and I am currently halfway through the Online Master's of Computer Science at the prestigious Georgia Institute of Technology. I am so grateful for the opportunities I have been afforded in life because of my education and I want to spread that love out to the students I teach. Math can be such a "boring" and challenging subject for many students. My goal is to change the self-defeating "mindset" students have when approaching learning math so they can feel confident to practice solving problems without anxiety.
