I am very familiar with rigorous testing, as well as preparing under pressure for high-stakes exams. I have experience in teaching myself, as well as others within my program to supplement class time and ensure not only great performance in class, but also a solid understanding of the subject being tested. Tutoring can be offered through supplements to classes, homework help, test prep help, or a combination to suit your needs! I am both very patient and very friendly, and willing to go as into depth as needed until you understand the concept completely.

Based on my own student experience (including the full IB Diploma), my tutoring philosophy is to help students understand the big picture of their subject by helping to build up or improve on their individual weaknesses. Challenges in upper division classes are often a result of weaknesses in the foundations, and so my goal is to either supplement these foundations in younger students, or identify and fix any weaknesses in older students. My other goal is to instill a sense of confidence in the student. Confidence and performance in a subject are very strongly linked, and by ensuring a solid understanding of the subject and building confidence, the student will not only perform better in the subject being tutored, but also gain an invaluable mindset that they will surely benefit from in future classes!

I currently offer sessions for improving writing, math from the middle school to calculus level, IB HL English, French, Biology, and History (focusing on History of the Americas), IB SL Chemistry and Math, AP Calculus AB, as well as all sections of the SAT (Reading, Writing, and Math).
