I’m a writing and academic skills tutor with a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Davis School of Law (GPA 3.65; top 25% of my class) and a B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from the University of California, San Diego. Law school sharpened my ability to write clearly under pressure, build strong arguments, and explain complex material in a way that’s organized and persuasive—skills I now use to help students improve their writing across subjects. I’ve also received recognition in legal writing and negotiation, which reflects the same core strengths: structure, clarity, and strong reasoning.
My tutoring style is practical and supportive. We start with your assignment prompt or rubric (or the expectations of your professor), and then I identify the one or two biggest changes that will improve your work the fastest. From there, we revise together so you can see exactly how to strengthen organization, thesis development, analysis, and sentence-level clarity. My goal is not just to “fix a paper,” but to help you build a repeatable process you can use on future essays and longer projects like thesis writing.
I have formal tutoring experience from a semester tutoring at Garfield High School, and I’ve also coached law students informally on law-school-style writing and analysis. I’m happy to work with students on academic writing, essay writing, thesis writing, and legal writing. I provide writing and academic coaching, not legal advice.
