What I’ve learned is that real teaching isn’t just presenting material — it’s slowing down, checking for understanding, and making sure every detail clicks. I’m laid-back in my sessions because I want students to feel comfortable, but I’m also organized and thorough so they walk away confident. Before tests, I often create mock exams so nothing on test day feels like a surprise.
Most of my students are in middle and high school, and I specialize in Pre-algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Chemistry, Biology, and Writing. Many of my students stay with me for years — not just because their grades improve, but because they feel supported and actually enjoy the process of learning.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I am a UC Berkeley graduate with over 15 years of experience tutoring Algebra. I understand that Algebra 1 is a critical foundation for future success in math, and I focus on building clarity, confidence, and lasting skills. My approach is detailed and organized, yet laid-back enough for students to feel comfortable and engaged. Many of my students stay with me for years because they enjoy the process and consistently see results.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Algebra II can feel like a big jump, with more complex math than students have seen before. I’ve been tutoring for over 15 years (UC Berkeley graduate), and I’ve learned that patience and encouragement make a huge difference. In our sessions, I take the time to explain details clearly, so students don’t just “get by” - they actually feel confident moving forward. My goal is for them to leave each session feeling less stressed and more capable.
Anatomy

Anatomy

I have worked in physical therapy for over 5 years in which I have utilized the anatomy learned in school. I have also aced my college anatomy and physiology courses and found different organizational strategies that helped me along the way. I get very passionate when teaching anatomy, adding real life examples so it is easier for students to remember the concepts.
Biology

Biology

With a background in healthcare and science, I have been teaching biology to high school students for over 7 years. I actively engage with students in the learning process to ensure that you understand exactly what you need to know for the test.
Chemistry

Chemistry

Besides acing my general chemistry courses, I have been tutoring chemistry for over seven years. There are only so many ways that a chemistry question can be asked. I show students how to tackle different kinds of questions and help them through the math portions as well.
Geometry

Geometry

I find Geometry is actually the beginning of logic based learning and can impact how a student digests information even outside of math. For geometry, proofs are a large part of confusion for students. I believe step by step instruction allows students to identify patterns that do indeed exist. I like to show students how to do a problem and then let them figure it out a similar question on their own. This ensures a mastering of the concept.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I am a UC Berkeley graduate with 15+ years of experience tutoring Pre-Algebra. I specialize in making sure students have a strong foundation in the basics, since these skills set the stage for success in Algebra and beyond. My approach is patient and structured, while keeping lessons relaxed and approachable. Many of my students work with me for years because they gain confidence early and build steady progress.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I have been tutoring SAT for the past 3 summers. I find that practice and time spent with the material is key. I teach students the fastest yet effective way to get the correct answer. I assign homework and gauge the progress of students to ensure that scores are improving.

Amazing Tutor!!!

Tammy taught me about using the periodic chart and how to use the masses to find the amount of moles. We also went over converting one element's mole to another elements mole. She was really clear and I could understand what she was explaining. Very helpful!
