In teaching writing and comprehension skills, students are able to analyze material and become critical thinkers. This ultimately enables them to become powerful communicators both verbally and in writing. With the understanding of grammar concepts and utilization thereof, one's expression of ideas is effectively communicated. I cover the standard MLA format, teach the conventional five paragraph essay format (compare and contrast, narrative, persuasive and descriptive), edit advanced level essay writing and research papers, work on grammar concepts, and build vocabulary. It has been exciting to create the English curriculum that covers Common Core standards for middle school students, assist principals edit documentation for accreditation purposes and work with elementary and high schools to ensure preparedness of students.
