My name is Chino, and I am an M.D. candidate and peer tutor with a B.S. in Public Health and a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Northern Arizona University. I have spent years studying and working in clinical and academic environments, and I know firsthand how overwhelming science coursework can feel — which is exactly why I became a tutor.
I specialize in Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, and Health Sciences, and I am equally comfortable working with high school students tackling their first science class as I am helping pre-med and college students prepare for the MCAT or navigate difficult coursework. My background in public health also allows me to help students in health education, environmental health, and epidemiology courses that many tutors simply do not cover.
What sets me apart is how I teach. I do not just repeat what a textbook says — I break concepts down using real clinical examples, diagrams, and plain language so that things actually make sense. I have worked in hospital settings as a patient safety attendant and security officer at Flagstaff Medical Center, so I bring real-world context to subjects that can otherwise feel abstract. When students understand the “why” behind what they are learning, the material sticks.
I am patient, organized, and genuinely invested in every student’s progress. Whether you are a high schooler who needs to pass a biology exam, a college student struggling with organic chemistry, or a pre-med student aiming for an A, I will meet you exactly where you are and build from there.
Send me a message and let’s figure out a plan that works for you.
