I will help you reach your Arabic learning goals. I am a patient and supportive teacher. I provide clear and helpful feedback, and I’m skilled at explaining complex Arabic grammar concepts in simple ways. My goal is to help you build strong speaking and writing skills so you can communicate confidently with native speakers. In our lessons, we will practice all four language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. I use trusted textbooks such as Alif Baa, Al-Kitaab, Ahlan wa Sahlan, or Mastering Arabic, along with videos, PowerPoint slides, and pictures to make learning enjoyable and effective.
I can also use other Arabic learning materials and resources to suit your learning needs. If you’re a beginner, I will guide you step-by-step through the Arabic alphabet and help you start speaking from your first lesson.
I have been teaching Arabic for over 10 years at community colleges, and previously at a private language school in San Diego. I’ve worked with students from different cultures and linguistic backgrounds, and I understand the challenges that come with learning Arabic. Whether you're learning for school, work, or personal growth, we’ll work together to help you overcome those challenges. You’ll have many opportunities to practice speaking and writing in a supportive and structured environment.
My academic background is in Translation (English–Arabic and Arabic–English). I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Translation from the University of Mosul in 1998 and my Master’s degree in 2001. I speak Arabic, English, and Chaldean. What I love most about teaching is making a positive difference in my students’ lives. I look forward to helping you on your Arabic learning journey!
