Hello! My name is Rita Haydaw and I’m an experienced tutor with a strong background in both math and science. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in General Biology and am currently a fourth-year dental student. My education has given me a deep understanding of subjects like General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and various levels of Math, which I’ve enjoyed sharing with students over the past three years. I began tutoring in-person at Grossmont College, where I supported students in General Chemistry, and later continued at UC San Diego, helping peers in Organic Chemistry through academic support programs. I’ve worked with a wide range of learners—from young children to adult students in their 50s—which has helped me develop a flexible and empathetic teaching style.
In addition to in-person tutoring, I’ve spent the last two years tutoring Math online. This experience has made me highly proficient in using digital platforms to engage students with interactive tools and personalized lesson plans. My approach is always student-centered: I take time to understand each student’s goals, strengths, and learning style, so I can explain concepts in a way that makes sense to them. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes—because that’s how real learning happens. Whether you’re trying to master equations, balance chemical reactions, or just build confidence in your academic skills, I’m here to help!
