If you're looking for a young tutor who has not yet lost the student perspective, look no further! I've been tutoring kids in math, science, and writing since I was in high school myself.

I am very keen on the learning process, and I tailor my teaching method to the student's learning preferences. I see myself as both a tutor, but also more importantly, a coach. My charter is to guide the student to understand the material, not just procedurally, but intuitively. Thru the use of real-life examples, analogies, mnemonics, and other mental models, I help bring crystal clarity of the material to the student.

Students are so busy, so to optimize time, I take a strategic approach to solidify learning after the lesson as well. At the end of the lesson, I give a short summary of the weak points that the student that I observed, and I either handpick or create succinct personalized homework questions that pinpoint the exact material I saw the student struggle with initially during the lesson. I also check in with the student (or you) to ensure that they've done this.

I've not only helped multiple students go from C to A in their class, but also naturally helped them develop their study skills to help them succeed in the future.

Math gaps don't stay small -- they compound over time. What's confusing today becomes a brick wall tomorrow. And bad grades in a class aren't reversible--there are no redos.

Let’s catch it now, while it’s still fixable! Message me to schedule your first session--I’ll meet them where they are, and we’ll continue putting your child on a track for success. If you don't think it's the right fit after the 1st session, no worries--there's no cost for you then.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

As an engineering student, math is a tool and my friend. When I was in 4th grade my math teacher recognized that I had an unusual propensity for math and so I was placed in Algebra 1 then. As a result of this advanced placement, I finished all the math required for an engineering degree at UC Berkeley when I was 17.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Self-studied algebra 2 in 8th grade and also took it officially in my freshman year of high school, receiving an A in the class. When I was in high school, I went to other high school students' houses weekly to tutor them.
English

English

I took both AP English Literature and Language in high school and achieved a 750 on the SAT writing portion. In addition to the writing I had for school, I have had experience being a journalist and have also authored numerous technical and non-technical reports for government entities and research.
Study Skills

Study Skills

I achieved a 3.95 GPA cumulative during high school while actively engaging in my extracurricular activities (swimming, chess, running, tennis, and others).
Writing

Writing

Writing has always been a passion of mine. I have had experience writing for a journal at UCLA and have consistently received positive remarks and feedback on my expositions within and beyond the academic setting. In spite of being an engineer, there is plenty of writing involved. Coherent and clear communication is key when it comes to explaining to sponsors, professors, and peers, especially since the topics can be so technical.
