While tutoring fellow college students in the US, I realized how much need there was for someone able to explain grammar concepts, phonetic issues, or punctuation rules in a clear, straightforward manner. These fundamentals are often overlooked in schools, and it sets students back. I focus on making these concepts intuitive and accessible.
My background in language acquisition, academic training, and multicultural experience are some of the invaluable skills I’ve brought to my SAT/ACT students, and I’ve found them especially useful in relating to students who speak English as a second language or grew up in a multilingual household.
I have three years of experience helping students strengthen their critical reading, grammar, and writing skills for the English sections of both exams, mostly one-on-one, online, or in small groups. I’ve worked with students of all levels, from those aiming to break into the 30s on the ACT to those looking for a perfect 1600 on the SAT. I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual needs, focusing on blind spots, managing time efficiently, and building confidence.
