I am a first-year Computer Science major at a UC, and have always had a strong passion for teaching. This past quarter, I tutored my roommate in her first Calculus class, where I helped her raise her test scores from C's to A's. This experience inspired me to pursue tutoring again. Over the past 2-3 years, I’ve gained a diverse range of tutoring experience. I’ve worked with kindergartners on educational arts and crafts projects in a classroom setting, and I also tutored a fourth grader online in math and English, and helped him advance 3 units in math over the summer. Seeing students progress is what motivates me the most, and I strive to create a positive learning environment where students feel confident in their abilities.
My qualifications allow me to tutor a wide range of subjects. I received a 5 on both the AP Calculus AB and BC exams, as well as a 5 on the AP English Language exam, which shows my strong foundation in both math and writing. In college, I have taken Linear Algebra and an advanced Python course, and I have 5 years of experience in Python programming. I am comfortable tutoring students in kindergarten math up to introductory calculus, as well as Python programming fundamentals, including lists, loops, functions, and string methods. I also am comfortable with proofreading essays, and helping students with writing.
I am committed to helping students achieve their academic goals while fostering a deeper understanding of the material. I come prepared to each session, tailoring my approach to meet the individual needs of each student. I also keep parents in the loop, ensuring they are informed about their child’s progress and areas of improvement. I aim to make each session productive, engaging, and centered on helping students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
