Hi Parents & Students!
My name is Michael B. and am set to graduate from UCLA (June 2026) with a B.S. in Chemistry. Post graduation I will be attending a teaching credential program to become certified as a High School Teacher. Teaching students is a passion of mine and with that in mind you'll be sure to receive attentive 1-on-1 guidance from me.
What can you expect of me? Prior to each session, I communicate with students/parents beforehand to see what topics your struggling with so I can plan a focused, efficient lesson. After each session, I provide a recap along with extra practice tools to strengthen understanding. As opposed to just a tutor that solves homework problems, my intentions are to help students master challenging math and science concepts through conceptual understanding over memorization. Education is a stepping stone to the dream career, business idea, or life experience and I want to help you get there.
I have 1 year experience tutoring college-level STEM courses at Santa Monica College such as Pre-Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics. On top of that I've worked with local high school students for the past year preparing them for high school AP exams and preventing them from falling behind in core math courses such as Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2.
My goal is to help students develop mastery and deep conceptual understanding in core math and science courses. I guide students to build the skills and confidence needed for success in future academic paths, technical careers, or healthcare fields.
