I completed my K–12 education in both the United States and Mexico, which allowed me to develop native-level fluency in English and Spanish, including regional dialects and cultural context. I am currently enrolled at a community college in Southern California and plan to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Behavioral Science. My studies in psychology help me better understand how students process information, build confidence, and overcome learning barriers. This academic foundation supports the structured and supportive approach I bring to tutoring.
Since late elementary school, I have consistently provided academic support to students aged 9-18. In middle and high school, I tutored classmates in person every two weeks at the end of each English unit, helping them prepare for exams and projects. Although these sessions were informal and peer-based, they were conducted in a classroom setting with clear explanations and organized review strategies. I focused on grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary development, and conversational fluency in both English and Spanish. The students I supported consistently earned A or high B grades after our review sessions. In addition, I have assisted peers in mathematics courses, including College Algebra and Precalculus. Outside of school, I conduct one-on-one reading sessions with my 10-year-old brother, guiding him through passages and asking comprehension-based questions to strengthen his understanding.
My tutoring style is patient, structured, and interactive. I create a safe and respectful environment where students feel comfortable asking questions without embarrassment. Rather than simply giving answers, I encourage students to think critically and explain concepts in their own words. I use relatable analogies to simplify complex material and reinforce understanding through guided practice scenarios. My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students build lasting confidence in their abilities.
