I recently completed my PhD in biomedical engineering from The Ohio State University. During my time there, I carried out wet lab cancer research involving tumor-on-a-chip microphysiological systems. This technology sits at the forefront of science as future replacement/alternatives to animal work. I am currently working to finding my next role, and have decided to take part in tutoring while I interview for a full time position.

A lot of my recent teaching experience comes from mentoring undergraduate students in the lab on how to design, execute, analyze, and present experiments. Prior to my graduate studies, I worked as a tutor for student athletes, while I completed my undergraduate degree at UC Merced. I tutored on subjects including calculus, biology, and Spanish. I have also tutored high school students on Calculus. Combined I have about 3 years of experience tutoring, with all of my previous work being carried out one on one and in person.
I like to approach work first by establishing understanding of the question or goal. Then I try to understand what has already been taught to the student in order to know how they are expected to approach the problem. From there I usually guide students to come to the answers on their own, but I can provide guidance and examples of how to approach similar problems if the students need help.
