I'm Sienna! I graduated from UC Davis in California with my B.A. in Japanese language and culture as well as East Asian Studies in 2020. After that, I lived in Kyoto, Japan as a foreign language teacher for two years. I have always enjoyed teaching and as a non-native Japanese speaker, I have made it my passion to help interested students learn more about foreign languages and cultures.
I have 4 years of teaching experience in the classroom both in Japan and in California and 5 years of experience as a private tutor for Japanese. I teach from a structured lesson plan that is guaranteed to help improve your communication skills and boost your confidence. I want to make learning Japanese fun and interesting so I encourage students to tell me about their goals and what they would like to learn in a session. You can expect free materials and recommendations for your studies along with a month's worth of lesson plans when you schedule a trial lesson with me! I make sure to cover writing, reading, and listening in all of my lessons. knowing these aspects of Japanese is beneficial to understanding the language. I also help students by connecting them to resources for travel, studying abroad, and working in Japan as a foreign resident.
