My name is Axon! I’m currently a college freshman double majoring in Cognitive Science and Mathematics at UC Davis. I have always excelled in math and I have experience tutoring others throughout high school and currently. I can assist with a variety of math courses including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. I received 5's on the AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP Statistics tests and am very familiar with the content of those classes. Additionally, I received two awards from the math department at my high school.

The typical age group I have tutored is high school students. I prefer teaching students either one-on-one or in small groups. The way I teach is by encouraging students to find solutions on their own and providing feedback when necessary. By allowing students to figure out problems themselves, it serves as a foundation for solving similar problems by applying that mental framework they have developed to problems they may encounter in future assignments or exams. Additionally, I feel that reviewing content from someone of a similar age group can help you piece together information much more clearly. This is because as current students, we may share similar learning perspectives and study techniques. Sometimes the perspective of a fellow student can help relay information to you better than a professor may be able to.

I want the individuals I work with to develop a deep understanding of the material we are going over and be able to apply that knowledge to any problem they may see in class or on exams. I hope to help these students feel confident in their mathematical abilities and help them succeed in any future courses they may take.
