I began college as a biology major, so I've taken and passed college-level introductory biology as well as chemistry, physics, and human anatomy. As a geology major I've taken many earth and environmental science courses including geochemistry, mineralogy, paleobiology, and physical geology. Outside of class I've been involved in research in paleontology, geochemistry, and archaeology!
My goal when tutoring is to make students comfortable with what they're learning and help foster enthusiasm about the subject. As a math and science tutor I don't just want to show students how to do one problem, I want to give them the skills to be able to figure out any new problems they come across. I personalize lesson structures to the needs of each individual student, and I can adapt my teaching style to fit how each student learns best.
