I am a Physician Assistant recently graduated from Bay Path University.I hold a B.S. in Biology from Gonzaga University. My graduate and undergraduate coursework includes extensive study in biology, human anatomy, physiology, microbiology, genetics, chemistry, and pharmacology, which gives me a strong foundation to tutor biology, anatomy, and physiology at the high school and college level, as well as general science in middle school.
I mentor pre-med and pre-PA students through my alumni network, supporting them with science coursework and study strategies for the past 5 years. My teaching approach focuses on building understanding rather than memorization. I break complex topics into clear, manageable pieces and use diagrams, comparison tables, mnemonics, and real-world examples to make concepts stick. For example, I connect anatomy and physiology to how the body actually works in everyday life and in medicine, which helps students see why the material matters. I also teach effective study habits, such as active recall and spaced repetition with flashcards, so students become more confident, independent learners. I adjust my pace and style for each student, keeping things engaging and approachable for younger learners and more in-depth for advanced students.
My experience has mainly been one-on-one and volunteer-based, working with college students and high school students. Through my clinical training, I also regularly explain medical concepts to patients in simple, understandable terms and have created teaching presentations for preceptors. These experiences have strengthened my ability to explain science clearly to learners of any age and background. I volunteer with the unhoused and at therapeutic riding centers for people with disabilities.
