I feel proud of my students as they grow and graduate year to year learning more and more. I have a great reputation with the families. I work with and stay dedicated to them for years. As a tutor, I have customized lesson plans and helped them not only through each class, but also through teaching long-term study habits. I specialize in high school math, 7th-12th grade, helping them grasp the concepts of their current class including homework help, study prep and reviewing old or missed essential concepts.

I was a dual major throughout college. I initially went to college studying math and civil engineering but also loved music and didn't let it go. After I graduated in 2013, I began working at a music store teaching the flute. It was wonderful to share music with eager learners. I have now moved to a new location and had to leave the job but since then I have been teaching private lessons to students and am available for online work. I have experience with students of all ages (5 to 45 years old) playing games with kids to get them excited about music to sharing insights with adults to help them prosper with a new hobby!

My initial college major, math, has always come easy for me and teaching was something that came naturally to me as well. I great with students of all ages. Because of my experience with a variety of people, I understand math doesn't come easy for everyone. I enjoy helping my students reach their goals. I believe good communication is very important in teaching. When describing concepts, it's important to use specific terms, to engage with the student and be able to tell whether they are understanding by asking them questions and listening for feedback. Some students learn best by trying it themselves and others need to see an example. I am very observant, patient and ready to learn how my students learn.
