Teaching, Editing, Reading, and Writing are my four greatest passions. I discovered these passions after having been a chemistry major for the first two years of my life as an undergraduate. So, with my Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts and Natural Science, I decided to move to Eugene and study English at the University of Oregon. I now carry a Master of Arts in English: Areas of Expertise include Rhetoric and Rhetorical Theory, MiddleBrow Modernisms and Early Twentieth Century Fiction of New York, Gender Studies and Feminist Rhetoric, New Media Studies, Television and Advertisement Critique, and more. I also carry a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Writing, Public Speaking, and Critical Reasoning, and graduated with a 3.8 overall GPA.
As a College Writing Instructor, I work to best teach students the subjects of English, Writing, Public Speaking and Basic Literary Critique, as well as clear written reasoning and formal argumentation. That being said, I am bilingual and can speak, read, and write in Spanish, and thus am able to tutor most levels of Spanish. Moreover, I have skills in, and am able to teach writing in other subjects like history, philosophy, psychology, and basic science. As a junior in college, I was a private freshman English and Spanish tutor and was able to change C ranking papers into an A's in both subjects. I do this by challenging students to push themselves to listen to their writing voices and stretch their minds to clearly and successfully prove whatever thesis that they claim, and still carry that philosophy in my teaching today.
I am proficient in grammar, speech organization, essay writing and editing, and literary critique (especially modernist literature). I have skills in helping students discover the best and most persuasive ways to prove their claims. I can also help students see themes in literature that they may have not picked up on before, and also help them develop ideas that they themselves discover in literature, but cannot seem to prove wholly in es
