Hi! I'm Andrew, a student at the University of California, San Diego studying Public Health with a focus on medical sciences. I have a strong background in math and science and enjoy helping students build confidence in subjects that can sometimes feel challenging.
I mainly tutor middle and high school students in math and science, and I can also help college students taking introductory courses like General Chemistry or General Physics. I also offer SAT Math preparation—I scored a 780 on the SAT Math section and earned a 4 on the AP Calculus BC exam.
My goal as a tutor is to make difficult concepts easier to understand by breaking them down step by step. I focus on creating a supportive and comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and improving their skills.
I focus on helping students actually understand math, chemistry, and physics instead of just memorizing formulas. My goal is to break down complicated ideas into simple steps so students can see the logic behind the problems and build confidence solving them on their own.
During lessons, I usually start by reviewing any questions or topics the student is struggling with. Then I explain the concept clearly, walk through a few example problems together, and have the student try similar problems while I guide them through the process. This helps students build strong problem-solving skills and feel more comfortable tackling new questions independently.
What sets me apart is that I’m patient and adaptable. I know these subjects can feel intimidating, so I focus on explaining things in ways that make sense to each individual student!
My lessons are designed for middle school and high school students, including those taking:
Standard math and science courses
Honors classes
AP courses such as AP Chemistry, AP Physics, or advanced math
