Hi all, I'm Jonah! I graduated from Biola University with a B.S. in biological science and a 3.997 cumulative GPA. I was the president of the largest pre-health club on Biola's campus and was the General Chemistry 1 and Organic Chemistry 1 TA. In high school, I took a total of 10 APs, including Calculus, Chemistry, English Literature, U.S. History, etc.

Surprisingly, I wasn't always interested in science, but rather it was my weakest subject. This all changed during high school when I took AP Chemistry. Although this course was one of the most demanding courses at my high school, the teacher I had was very understanding. Not only was he receptive to all our questions, but he took time aside to ensure that no student was left behind. Gradually, the sciences transformed into one of my favorite subjects.

Now, as a tutor myself, I strive to help students enjoy the learning process just like my high school Chemistry teacher did for me. My tutoring approach involves helping students understand the entire work process that leads to the answer. I encourage students to ask questions if they are stuck, and my study tips include practicing a small amount every day, whether it is through practice problems or reviewing concepts with a friend. In addition, I strongly believe a patient tutoring style is ideal, and thus, patience is guaranteed throughout all my sessions.

Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic started roughly five years ago, there has been a newfound struggle with academics due to online learning. By using Zoom, I have helped students in the past few years succeed ranging from those in elementary school to even college students. I am flexible in the subjects I teach, as I have covered classes in math, science, history, and English alike.

The simple fact of helping students thrive brings me joy, and I am confident that you will enjoy having me as a tutor! I am very easy to reach, so please don't hesitate to ask me any questions you may have. Book a lesson, and I look forward to working with you!
