I am a math educator with several years of experience working with elementary and middle school students in both classroom and small-group settings. I currently work in a public middle school in California, where I support students with a wide range of learning needs. I have also taught 4th and 5th grade math in after-school academic programs. I hold a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Statistics, and I am currently pursuing a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics.

I specialize in middle school math, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra I. My teaching approach focuses on helping students understand why a method works rather than simply memorizing steps. I break difficult concepts into manageable pieces, identify gaps in foundational skills, and use guided practice to help students become more confident and independent problem solvers.

I especially enjoy working with students who feel that math is confusing or who understand concepts in class but struggle to apply them independently. Whether a student needs help catching up, staying on track with schoolwork, or building a stronger foundation for Algebra, I tailor lessons to the student's current level and learning pace. My goal is for students to leave each session not only knowing how to solve the problems we worked on, but also understanding the mathematical reasoning behind them.

I have several years of experience teaching and supporting math students in classroom, small-group, and individualized settings. I currently work with middle school students in a California public school and hold a master's degree in Statistics. I focus on helping students build a strong foundation in Algebra 1, including equations, inequalities, functions, graphing, systems of equations, exponents, polynomials, and quadratic equations. My approach emphasizes conceptual understanding, clear step-by-step explanations, and guided practice so students can become confident and independent problem solvers.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I hold a master's degree in Statistics and have several years of experience teaching and supporting math students in classroom, small-group, and individualized settings. I help students develop a strong understanding of Algebra 2 topics including functions, systems of equations, polynomials, factoring, rational expressions, radicals, exponential and logarithmic functions, and quadratic equations. My teaching approach emphasizes clear step-by-step explanations while helping students understand the reasoning behind each method. I also focus on identifying gaps in Algebra 1 foundations that may be preventing students from succeeding in more advanced topics.
Chinese

Chinese

I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker with several years of experience teaching and working with students in educational settings. I can help learners improve pronunciation, tones, vocabulary, grammar, and conversational Chinese. I especially enjoy explaining Chinese in a clear and practical way for English-speaking learners. Lessons can be tailored to each student’s level, goals, and questions, whether they are beginners or continuing their self-study.
