Hey there, I'm Prachi! I'm an undergraduate student studying Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I offer personalized tutoring in Japanese up to the high school level and math (K-12).

I have 3+ years of experience teaching Japanese to high school students, university students, and adults.
In high school, I worked as a teaching assistant for my school’s Japanese class. I also scored a 5 on the AP Japanese exam. Currently, I’m working as a volunteer tutor for my university’s Japanese language organization. I ensure that students build confidence in their skills by teaching material through real-life situations, targeted practice, and engaging lesson plans. My specialties range from improving students' conversational Japanese to AP prep to personal vocabulary improvement. Whether you're preparing for a test or an upcoming trip to Japan, I can help!

I’m also experienced in middle and high school mathematics from Algebra 1 through Calculus. I was a National Merit Scholar (2025) and earned a perfect 800 on the SAT Math section (1560 overall). Other test scores include a 5 on AP Calculus BC and a 5 on AP Statistics. I wasn’t always fond of math, but in my junior year of high school, an amazing calculus teacher changed everything. I strive to be that force of change for my students, helping them discover the joy of math through building their confidence.

I understand that every student starts at a different level, so I tailor lessons to each student’s comfort level, goals, and pace. I’m always open to feedback from students and parents, and I typically respond to messages within 24-48 hours. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
