Hi! I’m a former 1st grade teacher with a B.S. in Elementary Education, and I’ve spent years helping young learners fall in love with reading, writing, and learning again. I taught 1st grade for four years (including during COVID) and I’m comfortable with both traditional and tech-supported learning. I quickly built out a full online classroom during remote school, offering live lessons, self-paced videos, and an open tutoring hour for families who needed extra support.

My specialty is early elementary ELA.
I’m trained in Saxon Phonics and have extensive experience supporting emerging and struggling readers, new writers, and kids who need a confidence boost. I love using hands-on, multisensory learning: manipulatives, music, movement, games, and anything that helps concepts “click.” Learning should feel joyful, not frustrating.
My teaching philosophy:
I believe all kids love learning… they just hate feeling frustrated by it. My goal is to help your child understand their subjects, rebuild confidence, and rediscover the excitement they naturally have for learning. I celebrate small wins, praise effort, and teach the power of “yet.” I also help kids find books they’re excited about and encourage writing about topics they genuinely love.
Who I support:
•K–4 readers
•Struggling or reluctant readers
•Emerging writers
•Early learners needing foundational skills
•Students with inattentive ADHD who need structure, patience, and encouragement
What families can expect from me:
I’m fun, patient, and encouraging. I keep sessions upbeat, hands-on, and tailored to your child’s needs and interests. I offer online tutoring, and I’m also available for limited in-person sessions in Cupertino/Mountain View between 5:30–8:30 PM. Sessions are typically 45–60 minutes.
If you’re looking for a warm, experienced, kid-loving tutor who will meet your child where they are and help them grow with confidence - I’d love to work with your family!
