Enthusiastic and Interactive Latin Tutor (Classics M.A.)

I have been tutoring and teaching students in all levels of Latin for 5 years, and I have enjoyed the experiences immensely. I love working with the language, as well as teaching English etymology, Greek/Roman mythology and culture.
I try to engage the students as much as possible and have them learn from everything. I follow that wonderful motto given by Miss Frizzle: take chances, make mistakes!

My students have not only learned the Latin language, but also have expanded their vocabulary in English and other languages, and have grasped English grammar more thoroughly. My students also get to know the figures in mythology in great detail, and how they played their parts in ancient culture, and even how they are relevant now.

Because my specialty is in Latin literature, especially Latin poetry, I have all of my advanced students translate poets that I translated as a student, such as: Virgil, Ovid, Catullus, and many more.

Through my study of four foreign languages, I have refined my understanding of English vocabulary and grammar rules.
I am also a published author, an undertaking which requires a firm understanding of the English language.

I earned both a BA and MA in Classics at UC Riverside and University of Manitoba respectively.
